Fire causes millions of dollars worth of damage, and considerable loss
of life every year. A lot of this can be prevented by common sense,
understanding of the components and mechanics of fire, and having
sufficient knowledge to attempt to extinguish a fire while it is still
small and manageable.
The course is designed to improve awareness of fires that may break out in the office or home, and give the learners an indication of what to do in these circumstances. The course is not designed to make a person a professional fire fighter, but is to give sufficient knowledge to enable fires to be extinguished using hand extinguishers and thus preventing them spreading and getting out of control.
The course is divided into 3 Modules for ease of understanding. A Final Quiz on completion of all sections needs to be completed with a score of at least 75% in order to complete the course.
