Most manufacturing facilities make use of engineering drawings. This is particularly trye when dealing with light, medium and heavy fabricators of steel structures. These structures need to be detailed on drawings, and included on these drawings is the information required to weld joints.

The information on drawings regarding Joint Configuration, Size, Type and Welding process needs to be detailed, and the standard method is by use of Symbols to represent the joint and welding requirements.

It is therefore necessary that a welder can read and interpret these welding symbols, to avoid confusion, mistakes and the production of poor welded joints.

This course consists of one Module:

6-1 Welding Symbols on Drawings
